The Team Behind Tute: Meet Yvonne, our Operations Manager.

At Tute Education, our Operations team play a key role in ensuring that our systems, processes, and services run smoothly, enabling students to access their education without disruptions. From managing timetables to troubleshooting technical issues, they work behind the scenes to create an environment where students can focus on their studies and thrive. Their commitment to continuous improvement ensures that Tute remains adaptable and responsive to the needs of every learner.

What is your role at Tute Education? What might a typical day consist of?

A typical day involves reviewing timetables, resolving technical queries, and refining processes to improve efficiency. Throughout the day, I work closely with different departments to troubleshoot operational challenges, lead efficiency projects, and implement new systems that enhance service delivery. I also monitor key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

With a strong focus on adaptability and innovation, my role is all about keeping students at the heart of every decision while ensuring Tute operates smoothly and effectively.

How long have you worked at Tute, and what motivated you to join the team?

I’ve been at Tute for over four years now, joining after a career in research chemistry and then project management in scientific and engineering fields.

I was looking for a change but wanted to apply my skills in problem solving, process improvement, and project delivery to a new environment. Tute’s mission to fill gaps in education and provide high-quality, accessible tuition really resonated with me.

The opportunity to use my experience to drive innovation, streamline operations, and contribute to a role that directly impacts students’ learning experiences was incredibly motivating.

What do you enjoy most about your role, and working at Tute?

I love the variety; no two days are the same. I get to work with fantastic colleagues across different teams, all of whom are passionate about making a difference in education. Tute’s collaborative environment means we’re constantly problem solving and looking for ways to improve operations to better support students and partners.

What do you enjoy most about your role, and working at Tute?

The most rewarding part is knowing that the work I do helps remove barriers to education. By ensuring smooth operations, we enable students to access the education they need, whether they’re in mainstream schools, alternative provision, or home education settings. A key part of this is making sure students are enrolled and onto their lessons quickly and seamlessly, so they can start learning without unnecessary delays. Seeing the tangible impact our work has on students’ educational journeys and helping them get the support they need makes it all worthwhile.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

Outside of work, staying active is a big part of my life. I regularly swim, run, and cycle, and occasionally challenge myself by combining all three in a triathlon. Running, in particular, is my way to de-stress and reset after a busy day. I also love spending time with my family, especially my 10 year old, whether it’s getting outdoors for a walk, kicking a football around, or heading off on an adventure. Good food and holidays are also high on my list, there’s nothing better than discovering new places and enjoying great meals along the way.

If you had to describe Tute in three words, what would they be?

Collaborative, impactful, inclusive.

What goals or aspirations do you have for operations at Tute Education in the future?

Looking ahead, I aim to continue refining and improving our operational processes to enhance efficiency and scalability. As demand for our services grows, ensuring we can adapt smoothly while maintaining the highest level of service is a key focus. I also want to strengthen collaboration across teams, making sure everyone has the right tools and information to support students effectively.

Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to Tute’s mission of making high-quality education accessible to all students, no matter their circumstances.
