Careers Live: Bringing the world of work to the classroom

What is the Careers Live event?

This academic year, Tute has launched a dedicated careers programme for key stage 4 students as part of Enrichment Wednesdays. The Careers Live events are an exciting extension of this programme, designed to give students real-world insights and guidance from professionals across diverse fields. These events, streamed through YouTube, will showcase a variety of career pathways and provide students with invaluable first-hand knowledge from experts about their roles, responsibilities, and the steps they took to achieve their career success.

What benefits does it have for students?

The Careers Live events offer students multiple benefits, including:

• Real-world insights: Exposure to different careers through live interactions with industry professionals.
• Career path guidance: Information on pathways, qualifications, and skills necessary for various roles, supporting students as they consider their own futures.
• Skill-building for the future: encouragement to ask questions and think critically about career choices, aligned with the CEIAG framework and Gatsby Benchmarks for comprehensive career education.
• Inspiration and exploration: Opportunities to explore diverse roles and industries that students may not have previously considered, expanding their aspirations and knowledge base. This experience directly supports Gatsby Benchmark 5 by providing meaningful encounters with professionals.

When will it be?

The first Careers Live will be 11:00 4 December 2024 – Radiography and working for the NHS.

There will be one Careers Live event each half term throughout the academic year, with each session focusing on a different profession or industry sector.

Further dates and times will be shared in advance to allow schools and students to plan attendance.

How do students access the event?

Students can access the Careers Live events through YouTube, allowing them to participate remotely and engage with professionals in real-time. We’ll provide all registered partners with access links and support for joining each live session.
