Hollie McFarlane
Assistant Head of Teaching and
Learning- Inclusion and
SEND
I have been an educator for over 21 years, starting my career in 2003 as a secondary english and drama teacher. Over the years, Iβve taken on many pastoral roles, including head of key stage 3, head of transition, head of PSE, and assistant head of care, support, and guidance. Iβve also served as a school SENCO, where I was a passionate advocate for students with special educational needs.Β
In 2018, I established and led an inclusion centre; a nurturing space for students who struggled in the mainstream school setting. My work has always focused on ensuring vulnerable pupils are treated fairly, with respect, and provided with the support they need to succeed. Every child is unique, and I strongly believe that education should reflect that individuality.Β
After leaving the mainstream classroom in March 2024, I remain dedicated to helping all students, especially those who need alternative approaches to learning. My vision aligns closely with Tuteβs goal of creating an education system where every child, anywhere, can achieve their potential. I am committed to ensuring that every child receives the education they deserve, no matter their circumstances.Β
β―I oversee the development and delivery of inclusive education practices across our service and platform. My role focuses on ensuring that all students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), receive tailored support that allows them to thrive. I collaborate with teachers to implement effective strategies, provide guidance on best practices for inclusion, and ensure that our curriculum is accessible to every learner. My goal is to create an environment where all students, regardless of their challenges, can achieve their full potential.Β
