Getting started

Supporting your child's learning journey with Tute:

Your child’s school or local authority will typically provide their login credentials. If you’re self-funding, you will receive login details directly from Tute to get started!

2

Log in to the Student Portal

Go to the Tute homepage, select log in, and enter your child’s username and password to access their Student Portal.

3

Log in to your Parent Portal

As a parent or carer, you will also receive your own Parent Portal login details. This allows you to track your child’s progress, engagement, and attendance—giving you full visibility of their learning journey, whether they’re self-funded or referred by an educational setting.

4

Join live lessons

Once logged in, your child can click on ‘Timetable’ to join their live lesson. The teacher will be there to guide them through the lesson.

5

Engage and learn

In each lesson, the teacher will share resources, set activities, and make the lesson interactive. Your child can participate using the chat function or ask questions privately if they prefer.

6

Real teachers, real learning

All lessons are taught by passionate, experienced, qualified teachers, ensuring your child receives the best possible education.

Interactive features

Your child can participate using tools like polls, emojis, and more. If they prefer not to speak in front of others, they can use the chat function to ask questions or communicate with their teacher.

FAQs

  • Tute for parents and carers
Are lessons delivered by real teachers?

Yes! All Tute lessons are taught by real, qualified teachers who follow the national curriculum. They’re committed to helping you make progress in a safe and supportive environment. You’ll call your teacher by their first name, and they’ll be there to guide you in every lesson.

How can I help my child get the best out of lessons with tute?

Here are a few tips to make the most of our online learning experience:

  • Be Prepared: Make sure your child’s device is ready to go before the lesson starts, and that they have a headset if needed.
  • Attend Regularly: Coming to lessons on time will really help you make progress.
  • Use Playback: The playback feature is great for revisiting lesson content and can be a helpful tool when revising.
How do I enrol my child with Tute?

The majority of our students are funded by their school or local authority, who will liaise with us directly. However we do have some self-funded students, where the parents pay for tuition. If you wish to self-fund please get in touch with us via Contact Us at the bottom of the page.

Is there homework?

This depends on what you’re studying. Your teacher will let you know if there’s any work to complete outside of your live lessons.

Will people see students during the lessons?

No, students won’t be using a webcam. The teacher and classmates won’t be able to see you, but you’ll be able to see and hear your teacher, who will be using their webcam.

When do lessons take place?

Lessons will follow a timetable that can be viewed once you log in.

Will there be other students in the lessons?

Yes, usually there will be around 10 students in your lessons. We encourage everyone to work together and, of course, to be respectful of each other.
