Our new creative forum for students
Shelf Care is our new English Literature Society here at Tute. As a department, we have been very excited to share the opportunity to offer an extra-curricular club for English with a virtual twist to inspire students and we felt like this was it!
Shelf Care is a creative forum, symbolising passion for reading and writing. We wanted to give all students a space to share their creative works with confidence and inspire the new generations of budding writers.
We encourage students to write anything: a story, a poem, a book review… something that they are proud of! We then collate those pieces and add them into a monthly newsletter that we share across lessons and in Bases.
For those students who wish to remain anonymous, they can pen their prose under the name ‘Hidden Voice’ to still celebrate their achievement whilst maintaining the element of mystery. Finally, we also offer a spotlight task based on a theme of prompt, for those who perform best when rising to a challenge.
Every month we are fortunate to see excellent submissions and publish unique and exciting pieces: we want more! Let’s celebrate the voices that we are honoured to have at Tute.
