Tute’s online learning platform allows students to connect and learn with their tutors via a standard computer or flash enabled tablet and an Internet connection. All activity on the system is recorded for your safety.

The example tutorial below shows a screenshot of our online platform, and an English lesson on homophones between Sam (a tutor) and Marie (a student).

The lesson commenced with Sam using the Chat panel to talk with Marie and to ask if she was ready to start. When Marie said yes, Sam invited her to open the audio function so that they could talk to each other as well. The audio session uses the computers inbuilt microphone and speakers, or external ones if you prefer. The Listener box on the bottom left shows who is active.

Sam didn’t need to open up the video camera to deliver this lesson as the materials could be run using the central presentation screen. If he had needed to launch video then he and Marie could have seen each other in the bottom right hand tile (Video deck).

Sam in his lesson has highlighted in green a specific point he wants to discuss with Marie. Sam has annotation tools available which allow him to draw over his slides to make the lesson fully interactive.

Now he’s asking about the spelling of the word he has ringed in purple using the annotation tools. Sam can let Marie use these tools to show her an answer or to write a sentence for example. The system allows drawing and highlighting using a standard mouse or inbuilt touchpad, so no special equipment is needed.

All of our tutors have been given the opportunity to undertake a training session with one of our in house tutors.
